This article is for Facilitron Works users who have the dispatcher inbox added as an additional privilege to their role in the system.

What Is the Dispatcher Inbox and How Does it Work?

The dispatcher inbox screen is simply a variation of the receive screen. If the user's role would normally have a "Receive Order" screen, the dispatcher inbox replaces that screen when it's been added to a user's profile in Works.

The dispatcher inbox is designed for a process flow in which a dispatcher is overseeing the workers in place of the workers logging in to the system. Workers are only associated with one user account, such as “Gerald’s Team”.

Adding the Dispatcher Inbox to a User Profile

When the user (usually a site supervisor) signs in, the dispatcher inbox will show under the work orders menu.

With this optional user menu, the system looks up all work orders assigned to that supervisor as the worker. Additionally, it will look up worker profiles where the "Reports to" is set to the dispatcher and it will display that worker first in the drop down list.

The dispatcher then assigns the work orders to their staff for completion using the same procedure as in the process to receive work orders. For more information about this process, please see The Receive Screen for Administrators
